Liberia crisis: we need many things

Adolf, 22, fled from Cote d’Ivoire after hearing heavy gunfire near his village. Now he is staying in the small village of Glarlay in Liberia. With his father still in Cote d’Ivoire, Adolf is taking responsibility for the 17 members of his family who crossed the border with him.

Cote d’Ivoire is teetering on the brink of civil war, and thousands more refugees like Adolf are crossing into Liberia every week. This is one of the poorest countries in the world, and food and water supplies are running dangerously low. The new arrivals desperately need our support.

We are supporting people like Adolf and his family by providing seeds so that they can grow food, as well as sleeping mats, blankets, cooking utensils and other vital equipment. Our partners are also building latrines to prevent the spread of disease, and setting up projects to protect vulnerable children.

Liberia is one of the poorest countries in the world, and we need to act now to help the refugees.
