Connect2: Rwandan visitors meet Wolverhampton parishioners

Odette Kayirere and Simon Nsabiyeze recently visited St Peter and St Paul parish, Wolverhampton as part of the Connect2 programme.  The Wolverhampton parish has been following the progress of Odette as she works with widows of the Rwandan genocide in the Rwandan village of Musha, and they were thrilled to welcome her in person.  Simon Swanwick of the parish says:

“The Parish felt so privileged to have Odette and Simon here with us in person. During the last few months, we have been beginning to get to know the people of Musha, but to have real people from Rwanda visiting us made their lives and their struggles so much more real!

In October, I gave the short talk to introduce the Connect2 project to the parish. I never imagined, when I was speaking about the woman who was forced to flee into the bush with her children to escape from the gang who had killed her husband, that, a few months later, I would be hearing the story from her own lips!”
