Kathleen (right) is working with Pauline from SCIAF and Janet from Trocaire teaching English at the Rainy Season Summer School in Mekelle, Ethiopia.
The summer school is part of an all-year round Street Children project run by the Daughters of Charity.
The children need English for school and to raise their prospects for the future.
Before leaving, Kathleen said: “After a few years away from teaching I’m currently going through the sort of butterflies most newly-qualified teachers experience.
“Will I still be able to teach? Will they understand me? Will I bore them senseless?! I’m sure it will be fine. And the three of us will help each other.”
