Cambodia: A country ravaged by its history
Back in dusty, hot Phnom Penh, and once again we are met by the overpowering smells of moto-exhaust fumes, fish markets, rotting fruit and jasmine flowers.
The streets are alive with people commuting on tuk-tuks, motos and many others in shiny SUVs. Street vendors carry heavy loads on bamboo sticks across their shoulders, while behind them towers a $1,000-per-night hotel.

Before we left the village, we invited the Phnong people if they had any questions for us. “Do you have forests in England?” was their enquiry.
