The Chess Valley Community Big Lent Walk

Ana Ingles and Jane Irwin organised a Community Big Lent Walk in Rickmansworth for over 50 parishioners and members of their local community.

The route was over 10km, and took in the Rickmansworth Aquadrome Nature Reserve, the Grand Union canal, Ebury Way, and Croxley Moor. The Parishes represented were Our Lady Help of Christians, Rickmansworth, St John the Evangelist, Mill End and St John Fisher, Chorleywood, but as Ana says, it wasn’t just parishioners!

Ana comments, ‘I feel so happy that so many people joined the Lent Walk. It was great to see so many adults, children and pets taking part . Thank you to the people from Parish and the community, in particular the Rickmansworth Running sisters for always supporting our events.’

She continues, ‘A massive thank you to everyone who has donated to CAFOD . We couldn’t feel happier to be part of such a kind community. We look forward to our next event and hope you can join us!’

They have raised nearly £500 already. You can add to their total below.

Ana and Jane would like to thank everyone who came along and got involved. Special thanks goes to Bo Bambridge for leading one of the walking groups, Natalie, Jo, and Geraldine for helping us with the ‘café’, and Rose for spreading the word with the Rickmansworth Running Sisters.

There was lots of lovely feedback, including one walker who said, ‘It was a fantastic walk, leg’s definitely didn’t want to play on Sunday.’ Ana even had pupils from her school talking about it on Monday morning!

The Big Lent Walk is entering the final straight, but you can still get involved with the ‘Walk to Easter’. This is a special 40km challenge running during the eight days from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday. If you’d like to get involved, please sign up below.
