Andy and Matt bring fun to fundraising for the London Marathon

Running and fundraising for the London Marathon is a monumental challenge, but Andy and Matt, two dedicated CAFOD supporters, decided to take their fundraising to a whole new level—and make it all about fun. With their sights set on the marathon, the pair hosted a lively fundraising evening that was packed with activities for the whole community.

“We decided to have a fundraising evening with an emphasis on fun!” shared Andy. “It was hosted in our parish Catholic Club with the support of both the club and parish. Matt did a five-round quiz, I did bingo, we had ‘guess the origin of the bear’ listing all the CAFOD countries. We also did a raffle and prize-every-time tombola, with all running-related prizes.”

The evening drew an impressive crowd of about 55 people, each contributing £10 per ticket. With all the fun activities, the night was a resounding success and raised £1,255.

Andy and Matt’s thoughtful planning ensured that everyone who came along not only contributed to their fundraising but also had a fantastic time.

“We felt that people are often asked for sponsorship money and we wanted to make sure they were getting something in return—a really fun evening!” said Andy.

Andy and Matt’s efforts are a shining example of how creativity and bringing your community together can make fundraising an enjoyable and meaningful experience for everyone involved.
