The Big Lent Walk is coming – are you ready?
Join us for the Big Lent Walk 2025!
Now in its third year, the Big Lent Walk has brought thousands of CAFOD supporters together, covering nearly one million kilometres to help fight global poverty.
This Jubilee year, why not put your faith into action by walking 200km over 40 days this Lent?
Whether you walk solo, with friends, or as part of a school or parish, you’ll be joining a global community working together for change. And for the second year running, we’re teaming up with SCIAF, bringing the Big Lent Walk to the whole of Great Britain.
Walkers are already stepping up
Some of our walkers are already gearing up to start their challenge on 5th March.
Chloe-Mairead is one of those walkers who’s raring to go…
She recently explored Delamere Forest, where she had a surprise encounter with none other than the Gruffalo! Chloe-Mairead shared this fantastic photo from her adventures, proving that you never know what—or who—you might meet on your walking journey.
When asked how she’s feeling about taking on the challenge, Chloe-Mairead shared these inspiring words:
“I’d simply like to share Psalm 46:5: ‘God is within her, she will not fall.’ He’s with me every step of the way on this journey!”
Helen is also ready to take on her Big Lent Walk with her loyal four-legged companion, Poppy.
She even sent us a wonderful photo of Poppy alongside their feathery friend, Monique the hen. Monique is no stranger to the limelight—she starred in CAFOD’s Cancel the Debt campaign video in 2020.
But here’s a question: how many times does a chicken need to cross the road to reach 200km? Probably longer than 40 days! Luckily for humans, it’s much more achievable.
So, don’t chicken out – sign up for the Big Lent Walk today and together we can tell poverty to take a hike!
